While we have been selling hardwood butcherblock for over 10 years, we have only been able to to get a good supply of Red Oak, and White Ash. Occasionally, we were able to get American Cherry. Because of the slow economy, our supplier aof these planks has a surplus of hardwood on hand, and offered to build us a large quantity of blocks in Maple and Mahogany. We now have more blocks in these 2 species than we have received in total over the last ten years. Both maple and cherry are no in stock in good numbers. They both are very hard and durable. Most commercial butcher blocks are made with hard maple, and the traditional specie for bars tops is mahogany.

Also, some time in January we will be receiving a very large shipment of insulated tempered glass, and we should have some great specials in January. As soon as we have the glass on hand, we will post any new specials or new sizes.

It was 6 degrees outdoors here on Thanksgiving morning, and by noon it was over 70 degrees in our solar greenhouse. and we were pumping the heat into our house!

Our customers have done some incredibly creative things with our insulated glass. Because of the tempering, this glass can be used right down to floor level and adjacent to doors. Because of the size of the units, you can create a great feeling of light and space and a connection to the outdoors inside your home. The glass has been used in elegant sunrooms in the most deluxe homes, and it has been used in barns and chicken coops. (Animals appreciate the light that these glass panes provide, too.) The strength the tempering provides is an asset in workshops, offices, storefronts and all commercial buildings.
